Hello everyone and hope you've had a great Spring,
enjoying lots of fresh foods of the season.
I am sure that our German ancestors long ago were busy about now, planting the summer crops and enjoying the early harvest.
Making a lighter Schnitzel
For a quick summer meal a nice choice is the All German Favorite,
Schnitzel.
A couple pounds from a mallet and your ready to fry it up and finish it with a simple mushroom gravy, or a lemon caper sauce, a nice ceamy sauce with fresh herbs.
Nothing says Spring and early summer the German way
than Asparagus and Strawberries.
We covered many asparagus (Spargel) salads
but, never this seemingly odd combination that celebrates
2 Spring foods in Germany,
Asparagus and Strawberries
This is a simple recipe that you can use a myriad of dressings that compliment this salad.
The juicy strawberries and the sweetness of the banana are almost enough to
give the salad enough moisture, but additional dressing is nice also.
