GOLABKI

am so sorry about your name!!!!!! I just thought it was shortened. They do that to mine alot.I do love the name Stephen!  My father and Mother and brother came here to the states I believe in 1950. I still have relatives that are still living in Germany and Hungary. My mother (Mama) cooks and bakes more with technique then with a recipe.....but me and my sister and 2 brothers have her write her version of it down on paper : ) Everyone loves it when I cook stuff cabbage. I'm sorry I forgot the german or hungarian name for it. I don't know if you like them but here is the recipe. I put 1 part ground round  and 1 part pork (Bob Evans original) I add green onions, garlic, eggs, salt , black pepper, green pepper and rice in the meat. after they are all rolled up with cabbage leaves, I put 2 parts stewed tomatoes to 1 part tomato sauce. After that I drain a jar of  sauerkraut and put that on top and bake in the oven . When done I make a gravy by mixing cold water and flour together. I add it to the cabbage rolls , let bake until done. I serve it with mashed potatoes a good german hard roll and cucumber salad. They are so good! I remember that smell when I was little and we went to my Papos and Nanas house from my dad's side. Thank you for your letter, and it is very nice to make you aquaintence also!!!!!!!! Evelyn
