Sirloin Steak

with

Roasted Peppers & Olive Butter

This meal is my personal favorite without doubt. There is nothing like a well cooked steak Topped with sweet tasting peppers and olive butter. Nice bottle of wine and the company of a wonderful woman and what else could a man want.

Ingredients

250g (8oz) Sirloin steak
1 Roasted Peppers (sliced)
1 -2 slices Olive butter

To roast & peel peppers

To roast peppers set you oven on 180C or 350F Brush your peppers with preferably olive oil, but any oil will do. And place in a baking dish for about 1/2 hour in 180C or 350F hot oven. Have a beer or a glass of wine while your waiting for them or make the olive butter or both They should be a little blackish/brown.

Now put them in a plastic freezer bag and seal for a while so they can set & the skin will start to bubble. When they have cooled take them out & peel the skin off them, discard the seeds & and top and slice into strips. Mmmmmmmmmmmm the sweet smell and taste of roasted peppers one of my favorites

To make Olive Butter

Chop finely 1/2 cup of black and green olive. Use only one type if you like, or you can use stuffed olives. And add these to 500g (1lb) softened butter, mix in well like you use to do as a child making mud pies. Now roll it on a clean surface till it's a long cylinder about 4cm(2 inches) in diamiter. Wrap in greaseproof paper or just cling film.put in the fridge to firm and slice to the thickness you want for your steak

This freezes well and you can slice from frozen and put the rest back in the freezer

Now cook your steak to your choice of dunness heating the peppers on the grill for the last few mins. Top the steak with the peppers then the olive butter and enjoy with a nice tossed salad

And onto the last and best part, dessert:

 Bread & Butter Puding
