| About Kitchen Projects
by Stephen Block

So that you have a basis for how Kitchen Projects was "born", I would like to share a bit about Kitchen Projects from the conception.
I have been a Chef for 30+ years. I have had a deep interest in food preparation which I can attribute to my family's German heritage. Food and Family were one. As a tribute to my heritage and to my family, I published a book that with the joint involvement of my mother, Aileen Block, and contributions of our Block family, a meaningful collection of history and recipes called "Recipes from a German Grandma", which you can learn about at: www.kitchenproject.com/german

I also have a nearly uncontrollable passion for "projects"... Digging into a subject, learning the history behind it, and sharing the findings with others. I love gathering the interaction and comments that others contribute, and expand the research, which generally develops the "project" into a truly interesting subject.
I saw the possibilities in the world wide web as a way that I could publish my "project" findings, and invite the participation of global responses to develop each topic to it's fullest. So four years ago I began to develop the site... www.kitchenprojects.com , a foreground for "a complete Cooking Experience".

This experience has given me far more opportunities and rewards than I ever could have imagined at the onset. I have made great friends worldwide, and find I have a never ending opportunity now for added "projects" to develop and share. It will be my pleasure to introduce you to many of these friends and share with you "projects" that we have sense developed together.
An additional opportunity developed through my passion for cooking and sharing with others. I found a "niche" of interest that many of you spoke of in your contributions. The need for fresh vanilla beans. After researching learned many things about the quality and lack if access in our today's markets. I then developed a website that can bring information and a fabulous vanilla bean product to you at: www.kitchenproject.com/vanilla .

If you have ever spent the ridiculous market prices in todays grocery stores and have received dried out tiny little beans, or $15.00 for pure vanilla extract visit this site and learn how you can make your own delicious extract, and you will also find delicious fresh vanilla beans for your homemade vanilla ice cream, creme brulee, or hundreds of other wonderful recipes you have, please check out this site. You can also check out a wonderful book written by Patricia Rain, the foremost authority on Vanilla, in her book, "The Vanilla Chef", also available at: www.kitchenproject.com/vanilla
